| Just got my copy and starting a playthrough now.
I'm willing to answer any questions for people who may be on the fence about the game.
Sym and Ante throw your thoughts in as well as anyone else who's picked it up. |

| I just added a few things into the other thread.
But Ill say it again, this game is awesome. I played for about 5 and a half hours last night, and loved every minute of it. |

| So far most combat has been from third person for me. If you stay out of cover too long you die (playing on highest difficulty). Haven't been able to run and gun at all, I've already died about 5 times.
You can also aim down the sights and it's a toggle aim instead of a hold aim so you're free to move around while ADS.

| Glad to see the positive reactions to this. I preordered a while back and should get my copy of the Augmented Edition either tomorrow or Thursday (UK launch Friday). Looking forward to it |

| Combat is both first and third. Depends on if your in cover or not. The possibilities are endless. Just as an example, in your first real mission, your taking down a group of terrorists who have taken over a lab. I saved in the beginning, and played through it 3 different times. I was able to use 3 totally different strategies and techniques, and was able to complete the mission with ease all ways. |

| Is it necessary to know the story of the first two to understand whats going on?
I never finished the last one because my Xbox didn't let me. _________________ You're the vulgarian, you fuck! |

| I'd say no Chewy. Most you'll miss out on are some references and stuff. |

Tell me more about this. I know in Deus Ex original your options were something like hack a robot, climb through a vent, or kill everyone with guns. Is there a lot more tactical choice this time around? What exactly did you do different?
And as for like specializations, in Deus Ex 1 if you had no training with rifles, you could NOT kill someone with them from any distance. Is it just as harsh this time or can you pretty much just pick up any equipment and use it? |

| You pretty much have the same options as you mention plus other stuff like environmental stuff and the stealth is pretty slick as well. No gun fight has played out the same for me yet.
In regards to weapons, it's not like how it was in DE, you can pick up any gun and be good with it. There are also Augs that improve weapon handling as well. |

Awesome, I figured they wouldn't make it too direct of a sequel given how long it's been.
I'll be picking this up Thursday. Sounds like an incredible game._________________ You're the vulgarian, you fuck! |

| I was in a random apartment hacking some guys computer and while I'm doing it the radio in the room played some music from the first game lol. It's little stuff like that that you'll miss out on, but nothing critical to the story. |

| Steam has always been a piece of shit. Never been a big fan of it, all intruding on my standalone CS 1.6 playing.
So is there a lot of random not-quest related stuff to do? _________________ You're the vulgarian, you fuck! |

| Yeah there are a lot of side quests. It's kind of Falloutish how you can have multiple active quests. I currently have 4 quests going (2 mission quests and 2 side quests), and currently doing something completely unrelated to all of them lol. |

| So how are you guys playing this? I'm going the stealth route, instead of run'n'gunning like I did in the beta. Man, I've had some close calls that had my hair standing on end. |

| I'm playing it kinda like I played Crysis 2, lot of hit and run tactics. Like I said I'm playing on the hardest difficulty so I'm spending alot of time in cover. |
