I've made my own katana but it's priceless as it's fused with my blood and bones... I call it SOUL EDGE!

I think you would need to get an original one from a japanese smith, if you want true quality...

I can't imagine how expensive those are.

Cheap authentic katanas still run in the thousands. Like Ars said, you'd likely end up having to commission one from a Japanese smith, and the waiting line for those is looooooooooong.

Fat neck bearded Anime fans have driven up Katana prices exponentially.

You gets these lard assess in conventions running around with swords.

I hate those guys.

Just for this, I actually respect you. Also, I looked at getting a commissioned katana, but those run from $1,000 to $2,000 with all the transport and time necessary. My katana is just heavy as fuck, so I want to get a new one. Oh, and post a link to that Kanja Taeko Fujiwara GM, I couldnt find anything about it on the net.

Absolutely not. Most standard katana are the same absolute weight, or close, but the specific balance and make of each creates a unique apparent weight. My katana is very heavy towards the tip and the support at the hilt...pathetic. I only bought it because i liked the movie it was in, but it actually is really bad.
