It sucks balls. I'm almost 18, and have never had a girlfriend. Hell I dont even think a girl has ever even liked me. So I've never had a girlfriend, but I have had countless friends who are girls, more then guys even. And boy I can tell you, it sucks like hell to be hanging out with them and all they go on is about the guy they like(who also happens to be your friend). Or when you hang out and go somewhere they are always climbing all over him or hugging him or holding his hands. That has got to be one of the most painful feelings in the world.

Of course I wish I wasn't such a pussy and just tell them how I feel

My .02 as i never had a GF till i was 22.

I regret never telling this girl in highschool i was infatuated with her. I was in the friend zone and to this day i wished i had said something. Even if it's not what you want to here atleast you said it.

It's tough but i've learned to live with few regrets and that was one i can't shake.

Tell her you like her and move on from there, professing love right off the bat rarely works out. It could, but the chances are slim.

Friends is a start and from there your much closer to become her man vs' some guy that likes her.

the only thing that i will say is this:

girls at your age are frickin' weird. they're discovering themselves, they have a lot of peer pressure to deal with, even if they did like a guy outside of their own social circle or who isn't up to par with her friends' ideal of how hot a boy should be, she might never act on it for fear of ridicule.

your life will vastly improve once you are out of high school, everything is so much more chill, there isn't that constant cloud of "must be accepted/cool/popular" hanging over your head, because in the real world everyone is a frickin' dork in some way or another.

the people who still try and be the cool kid will never be the cool kid, because there is no such thing. everybody got their somethin' that makes them weird in way or another.

dealing with girls will become easier for you in time.

This is just like me in high school. I feel for you man I was EXACTLY there. You just gotta hang in there and don't be afraid to put yourself on the line. Now I never turned around and dated one of my friends from high school, but since I've graduated I have had a girl who said she just wanted to be friends change her mind and now we are really happy. you will be alright as long as you just remain true to yourself

dude soap i feel for you, in highschool right now, what i would do is when she is single go to a dance or movie with some other people but "as friends" and it might go from there. not sure if this is good advice but i would have tried it but the girl i liked wasnt single and then stopped talking to me.... mabye listening to me is a bad idea =/
