PostSubject: Question about Bulletstorm   Fri Mar 04, 2011 11:30 pm

So I have been thinking of buying this. But I have a few questions for those that have it.

1) do I get anything special for a new copy? Can I buy used and still get Gears of War 3 beta code or whatever?

2) is there a multiplayer, and what is it like if so?

3) is the story long and is there replayability?

1) seems you need a code and the disc to play the beta so you will have to buy new

2) Only horde and I heard that it sucks the more people you play with

3) I believe it is 7-10 and their is a little to get a high score, skill shot. You unlock weapons in set order even if you replay the campaign sadly.

You wouldn't really be able to use the weapons on a true PvP multiplayer match.

Ex: The sniper rifle slows down time when fired, and allows you to manipulate it mid flight.

The Drill Charge slide would be ridiculously OP as well as the thumper.

i would say, its a good game. a good way to use some free time. theres some replayability to it if you compete for high scores in the echo mission dealies. multiplayer looked ok but seems to heavily rely on you and your teammates using teamwork and having some form of skill which lacks in most people today
i barely played it

but i would say, only get it if you get the gow3 beta. the skillshot thing can be a little repetitive and annoying when your shot dont work/count. the counter to this is you can get skillshots that promote you killing quick or in one clip of ammo. the story is good, but there are some moments where you say,"why the hell didnt you ..." some of the ememies are a little annoying because some are armored to the teeth and suck to skillshot becuase hey have a charge shot which leaves you with very little health. some enemies evade your leash and kicks, and some enemies can only be hit in a certain spot to die.

Read what Penny Arcade says about the MP.

http://www.penny-arcade.com/2011/2/28/

Quote:
You aren't going to crack waves eighteen through twenty of this thing just sliding around and kicking the occasional mutant. The score threshold that accompanies each round (and gates your passage) makes sure of that. The only way to progress is wring out each opponent for score, and the only way to do that is to communicate with other players. The earliest levels posit fairly workaday challenges, and you'll shred them with little difficulty. I think the challenge could stand to start earlier, because the hard work of meeting them is so satisfying. I think they should replace the existing demo with one for Anarchy mode - and maybe just start there for the upcoming PC demo. People would be surprised to see how this "dumb" shooter, which is at the core of so much hand-wringing and garment-rending, can become something bracing and undeniable.

This would have made me buy it if I weren't picking up Homefront in a week.

1) IDK what for PS3, but for 360 you get early access to the GoW3 beta, about a week early

2) MP is called Anarchy, it's like horde/zombies/firefight, but to advance to need to meet a target score. You use your points to unlock upgrades, weapons, and buy ammo. So the higher you go, the more team work that's involved. I've had good rooms, and bad ones. There is echoes too, it's a small section from the story, to get the highest score (like the demo)

3) Story was fun, it's 7-9hrs long, and replayblity depends on the person. The dialog made it fun, and getting some of the area skill shots I missed (chapter select). AI isn't real smart so beating it on very hard isn't too difficult.

Well I know that just a GoW3 preorder gets me into beta. But I have been having fun with the Bulletstorm demo. But I can't get 3 stars, cause I can't figure out how to get enough points. I think once I get paid for my report card, I might get it. Just depends if I want music more.
