Does anyone here like Lacrosse?

It's pretty big out here on LI, but I dunno... I could never get into it. to me it just seems like a lamer version of hockey.

I used to play it for a couple years in high school. It's a really fun sport to play but I never really liked watching it that much. Shit is pretty rough, the sides of my arms were constantly bruised throughout the season due to stick checks.

High school lacrosse games are probably more entertaining to watch than professional ones though, since there are actually hits in them. At least at our games since the club was relatively new so we weren't very good and there were a lot of ground balls.

Most of my team was actually pretty cool. Bros weren't quite as rampant back in those days though, and most people didn't even know what lacrosse was.

Yeah, it is pretty rough. Odds are im going to end up playing next year though because apparently my school is giving the axe to the Tennis team. =/

. There was a band recital today though, and 3 of our best players are in band.

Im usually rank #4, but today I played in the #2 spot. Shocked

I can play both as well, though I typically stick with doubles. Dunno why, I just like it. Most of the time I alternate between 2nd and 3rd.

Tried to play lacrosse in high school, but it was the second year for the club, and well they were too high on themselves, so I bailed on that and just stuck with volleyball. Like the sport, looks fun to watch and all that, but never really got into it too much.

It has quite the learning curve. Most people can't even do the bare essentials like cradling when they first start playing.

Yea, I love lacrosse. I've been playing for three years now. I play goalie, so my legs constantly look like I get beaten or something. I like the sport and all, but I have to agree, I hate most of the people who play it. I'm not a bro at all, and being on a team full of em is an experience.

Doubles is a lot of fun, but can be painful to play when youre having a bad day. i hate bringing down my partner, plus im pretty weak at the net.

There was seriously probably only 1 person close to a bro on my team, and he was actually a pretty cool guy aside from his bro-style, which me and my friends all mocked in his face. The team was a pretty diverse group of people overall, since lacrosse was a pretty new concept to most people then. Some of the funniest moments of my life were with that team, we were insane.

It's actually pretty fun once you get used to the constant pain. And I love getting bruises now, makes me feel tough haha. I wear shorts with them as much as possible so people notice them Very Happy
